I am selling a 1.9 Peugeot 205 GTI track car. I bought this car as a donor car for my racing 205 GTI, but when I got it I decided to pass it on. I had considered tracking the car myself, or building the car to a race specification, but I am concentrating on my main race car and need space in the drive.
I did take a few parts off it, but I have replaced them. The car is not perfect but I have resolved a few issues, fitting a new oil catch can, new indicator lenses, sorting the seat, fitting a new choke cable, fitted a new Odyssey battery, etc...
The car is a 1.9 engine and comes fitted with a set of motorbike carbs. It has a silly exhaust on it, but it does start and run.
Anyone with a little time and some track car knowledge could get this car track ready with very little effort.
Good points:
- Strong, non smokey engine
- Extremely good condition shell (apparently, it had a full refurb before the previous owner tracked the car)
- New oil catch can and breather hoses
- New Odyssey racing battery with battery mount
- Fitted with bike carbs
- Sunroof has been removed so metal lid
- Comes with an extra set of white 14" pepper pot wheels
- New choke cable
- Weld in roll cage (doesn't appear to be FIA)
- Small aluminium foam filled fuel tank (cabin mounted)
- East solid base for a project, hill climb or race car
- Very little rust
Issues I am aware of or things that could do with attention:
- Handbrake doesn't work
- Plastic trims are tatty
- Tyres not great
- Seat old
- No speedo fitted - dash lose and needs sorting
- Wiring needs attention - kill switch badly wired
- Starter motor looks new but is temperamental
Even with these faults, this is a lot of car for the money.
SHELL IMAGE - The shell image was sent to me by the previous owner.
I would be happy to deliver the car by trailer, for £1.00 per mile from Eyemouth, Scotland.
