An opportunity to purchase a well-prepared classic rally car. This Alfa Romeo has been competing in regularity and endurance rallies since the 1990s and has proven to be a car capable of winning. This is of course down to its reliability and the talents of its driver and navigator. The detail in its preparation is superb for example many key components have been lockwired for safety.
The car is a very earlier Alfa Romeo Giulia 1600 ti that was first registered in Manchester, UK on the 30th June 1964 finished in white, the car still has its original windscreen that shows the running-in instructions on it.
If you want the perfect car for long-distance endurance and local regularity rally events this is a car you should consider.
The current owner has had the car since 2016 and first competed against it in the 2004 Scottish Malts trial where it finished 3rd overall and claimed the fastest times on many of the tests.
John Bennett was the owner at this time and whilst in his ownership, the engine was rebuilt in 1998 by the renowned Alfa specialist Bob Dove which can be confirmed by the stampings on the cylinder head.
Some of the rally prep work was carried out by Kevin Savage and I believe Frank Fennell was the owner then. He and Kevin entered it into several events including the 8th Rally of the Tests and the 18th Winter Challenge in 2011.
